CAPITAL CITY KART CLUB
MINUTES OF THE RECONVENED ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
JANUARY 15, 2006 AT THE
COWICHAN VALLEY INN, DUNCAN
The Annual General Meeting was brought to order at 2.30 p.m. with 11 members in attendance including 5 of the Executive.
James Wilson read the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal preamble re BCKCA.
The Financial Statements were presented. Motion to accept the statements as read by Steve Richardson 2 nd Phil Pidcock. Carried unanimously.
New Business
- Motion by Steve Richardson 2 nd Phil Pidcock “to accept the existing fees of $35.00 for single memberships and $75.00 for family memberships.” Discussion followed. Carried unanimously.
- Motion by Kelly Irish 2 nd Phil Pidcock “pursuant to Part 9, article 42 of the constitution, a spending limit of $1,500 will be imposed on the 2006 directors without the requirement for a resolution passed by a majority of members at a general meeting. Discussion followed. Carried unanimously.
- Motion by Steve Richardson 2 nd Gerry Hawkes “to adopt the new membership form and procedures and make the necessary changes to the bylaws.” Discussion followed. Carried unanimously.
- CCKC Name Change – discussion re changing the name of CCKC to more accurately represent the karting community of Vancouver Island . It was decided to open a forum on our website re voting on the name change. A time limit was set on this and we will vote on it at the March meeting.
- Draft Letter to District of North Cowichan – Dorothy presented the draft letter she would be taking to the head administrator at North Cowichan on Tuesday. Discussion followed and a few points were added.
Election of Officers (at 3.30 p.m. )
Motion by Steve Richardson 2 nd Phil Pidcock “to retain the 2005 Executive for the 2006 season.” Carried unanimously.

Port Alberni Grand Prix
We are going to need a guaranteed count of 80 karts for the Port race. We should hear by mid-February from John McNabb re confirmation of holding the race. BC Karting has a forum on their website re the Grand Prix and we should put one on our website. Looking at the karting schedule the race could be 2 nd or 3 rd weekend in May or 2 nd weekend in July.
